THE COMPUTER SLAGS FILE.
This is to be a straightforward file in which the customers to
this disk are able to send in mindless slags degrading other
computers..
Marvel! At the language used to convey 'My computer is
better than yours' debate.....
Wonder! At where people get their information from.....
Rapture! At the death threats given by people loyal to
their computers..
I (68K) have had a computer slag board running for about 9 months
on my BBS in the University Of Greenwich.. At the time of writing,
the file for the 9 months in approaching 500K. I hope that this
file will be just as used (hopefuly more!). Feel free to curse,
swear, insult, cuss and threaten people in this file, 'cos thats
what this is all about..
It's all in fun really.. Isn't it? -68K

This file will be 'chopped' every so often, so that you havn't got
to wade through masses of text to get to the new bits.. - 68K(Steve)

So let's start the ball rolling....
------------------------------------------------------------------
What gets me about Amiga owners is that they slag off the Falcon
because "It's just like an ST", and then boast about the fact that
the A1200 is fully backwards-compatable... Seems a bit hypocritical
to me.....
The A1200 being compatable with the A500/600 limits the machine
as a whole, and will mean it'll be dead very quickly.... Ha ha!
The Falcon and the ST/STE/TT range are completely different computers,
with different uses and aimed at different markets.. It just so happens
that the Falcon can use a large amount of ST/TT software as it can run
GEM programs.... I think that is a good idea, as much of the
serious software is written for GEM (to ensure compatability with the
ST/TT/STE).
Okay, that'll do fer now!!! ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Well for starters the Falcon looks exactly like an ST, except for a
slightly different shade of colour. The A1200 is bigger than an A600
(with the extra numeric keypad), and looks a lot sexier too!
Compatibility with the A500/A600 just means it can run almost all
software written for the earlier Amiga's. Anything written to take
advantage of the A1200s amazing new AGA graphic chip set, certainly won't
work on the earlier Amiga's. Most existing A500/A600 software will even
run faster when run on an A1200, so the compatibility certainly doesn't
hamper the A1200 at all.
With 2Mb as standard there is loads of memory, more than the Falcon I
think you'll find. With plenty of expansion possibilties. These now
include the new CD drive to be released for the A1200, you haven't got
one of them coming out for the Falcon yet have you ?!
Who needs GEM when you have the indispensable AmigaDOS with Workbench 3 ?
A lot lot friendler and better looking than GEM anyday.
The only thing in the Falcons favour (at the moment) is the DSP chip, and
when Commodore finally get round to unveiling their new DSP chip the
Falcon won't even have that advantage!
Answer that if you can!
